The Stupid Page

Stupidity comes in many forms and is constantly in the newspapers. Leftist comedians point to the Daily Mail in the UK as if it is telling lies. This is lazy and unfunny because you usually find that the Daily Express and The Telegraph pick up the same stories - sometimes even the BBC does. Never the Guardian or Independent - what does this tell us about lies and propaganda?

France will ban the burka. We will all say 'good'. However, the EU will overturn the decision because it is very, very stupid. No matter how high the percentage of public opinion against it, stupidly applied 'Human Rights' law will guarantee that democratic wishes won't apply. They never do.

Student Visa scams allowing uncontrolled illegal immigration into the UK? That's not been stopped. Why not? Because those in charge of the issue are stupid. They must be if they can find reasons and laws to allow the UK to be ripped off so cynically.

Meanwhile, in an act designed to 'promote community cohesion' Rochdale has fitted primitive middle eastern toilets in a public shopping centre. Proof positive that they're so stupid that they wouldn't know their arses from a hole in the ground.

Criminals won't go to jail. If someone hurts you and takes your stuff, the politicians won't pay for more jails and won't lock people up who do bad things. This is stupid because they'll carry on, hurt you some more, and rob the rest of your stuff. It's obvious that those in charge of the situation are stupid and trying to save money by not providing essential services to society.

After shooting a woman, murdering her partner and blinding a policeman by shooting him in the face, a criminal held the police at bay for six hours with a gun to his head before killing himself. Immediately, someone set up a Facebook page in his honour, describing him as 'a legend' and 21,000 people (and counting) joined up. This is a huge number of people taking the side of an armed murderer against the police. Draw your own conclusions.

Facebook's reaction to the anger of the people and even of the Prime Minister? Stupid, of course. You were expecting public-spirited co-operation? Respect for the murder-victim's family? Respect for the blinded policeman? No. You get stupidity. Still, at least Cameron can see it and isn't afraid to say so.

You can dive in pretty much anywhere with the papers to find stupidity. Recently, when babies were mauled by urban foxes, women went online to issue death threats to the families, denying the stories, ignoring the pictures of the bitten babies. Very, very stupid.

I remember seeing students interviewed before the election and one, in particular, stuck me as very stupid, thinking that the Liberals would abolish student debt. Nothing politicians do resembles their pre-election manifestos even remotely. Don't be stupid!

Meanwhile, for those fans of crime who are all over Facebook with their views lately, here's some good news for you. The police are going out of business which is perfect in a crime-ridden society like ours and by your remarkable standards not at all stupid.
